Modern CPUs have enough computing power to encrypt and decrypt HTTPS traffic. Even the most costly operation, the SSL handshake at the beginning of each session, is no longer a problem for modern CPUs.
We therefore recommend to invest money in additional CPU power instead of buying dedicated SSL accelerator hardware: You actually get more for less.
There could be a need to manage SSL certificates on a central plattform, called a "net HSM" (network attached hardware security module). Since Airlock 5.2 this feature is supported for some specific HSM modules compliant with the PKCS#11 standard.
